SKFSA Announces Format Changes for the Upcoming 2010 Season

(January 30, 2009)   League Commissioner Michael Richey announced major changes for the upcoming 2010 SKFSA Sim Racing League.  League administrators met earlier this week at SKFSA World Headquarters in Glasgow, Kentucky where several changes to the existing series along with the rebirth of the Open Set-Up Series were discussed.  Richey told reporters that the changes were made to promote "better racing and more competition among the drivers."

Among the changes noted were the following:

Powers Aviation Cup Series (PACS):

  • NO COMPUTER CARS

  • To mirror current NASCAR Cup schedule

  • Race length will be 30% and 3x tire wear

  • Fixed setup and fixed weather

  • The league will use current COT mod until after the All-Star race.  If a new mod is available at that time it will be utilized, otherwise the league will revert back to the old Cup Series Mod.

Chase format

  • Highest 6 drivers make the chase - their points will be reset to 5000

  • All others will be racing for 7th place.

Provisional’s

  • All drivers not present for a race will receive 100 points

  • No limit on number of provisionals

31-E Band Truck Series (TTS)

  • Up to 20 COMPUTER CARS WILL fill the field.  E.g., if 20 humans show up for the race, there will be no computer trucks

  • Computer Trucks will race at 94% on all 2005 Tracks that came with the game, and at 88% on tracks that have been revamped.

  • Drivers will qualify with the computer trucks

SKCPR Web Design Grand National Series (GNS)

  • To run Mondays at the same time as the others 2 series

  • Will utilize OPEN SETUP and REAL WEATHER.

  • 30% race length and 3x tire wear

  • To follow the current Nationwide Series schedule as NASCAR

SKFSA Dirt Series

  • R-Factor will be on Tuesday Night

  • OPEN SETUP and REAL WEATHER

  • Schedule to be determined as tracks are located.

Catch all the action as SKFSA Sim Racing League gets underway Wednesday, February 10th with the Powers Aviation Series Shootout Qualifier at Daytona.
